Guided by native island eco-guides, guests explore the coral reef platforms of Isla Grande and discover over 60 varieties of corals, sponges, and algae adapting to climate change. El Hamaquero supports the community coral restoration program.

The snorkeling trail visits coral nurseries and transplant sites managed by native gardeners alongside research centers and environmental authorities. Guests may participate in monitoring transplanted colonies and clearing algae in the transplant area.

Located on the most extensive reef platform on the Colombian Caribbean coast, within the Corales del Rosario y San Bernardo National Natural Park. Route varies by season depending on wind, weather, and water visibility.

55% goes directly to native guides. 45% to the Restoration Fund covering transport, materials, and submerged coral nursery structures.

This night experience begins with a canoe tour through the inner mangrove lagoons leading to the Enchanted Lagoon, where after dark it is possible to witness the natural wonder of bioluminescence.

Guests can dive into the water to experience the phenomenon of plankton - tiny microorganisms that glow when disturbed by movement.

A colored buoy is required when swimming near shore so boats can see you. To venture onto the open reef platform you must cross the boat channel; Coastguard regulations require a vessel - rent a kayak and tie it to your waist or ankle to swim freely over the coral platform. All snorkel equipment is delivered in good condition; any anomaly, damage, or loss will be charged.
